They came back with a "Hollywood stunt driver" who crashed under a couple of junk cars sat up on their end in a "tower of power." Then he completed a couple of rollovers. The intermission lasted 45 minutes, but I was sticking around for freestyle hoping it would save the day. The announcer made sure to point out all the stuff you could spend your money on before signing off. I was surprised, not even 30 minutes of show time. They just had the trucks run a 6 second straight line with a couple small bumps. It had rained overnight and the track was a little muddy, but the two racing lanes still were set up just fine. Then instead of racing, they said that because of "track conditions" they were going to do time trials instead. The show started with introductions and "two wheel skills" which were wheelie attempts.

The announcer sounded unenthused and like he was trying to just hit all his beats. It was the last show of the weekend, and it kind of felt like everyone was just going through the motions. They crammed everyone into tiny, rickety feeling metal bleachers. I wasn't expecting a monster jam level production, but the show was pretty disappointing. When it came to the monster truck show, it felt like the part with the least effort and thought put into it. I realize that a lot of this is par for course in the industry, but it started to feel ridiculous. You weren't allowed to bring in water, but being in the middle of field with no shade and temps approaching the high 80s you quickly needed some. Monster truck rides were $21, parking was $15, a single slide down an inflatable was $7, a bottle of water or soda was $5, a glass of lemonade was $10. They nickled and dimed you wherever they could. All the trucks were sat off to one side of the field by themselves, but other than that it was ran like a cheap carnival.

When we got inside the pit party area, there wasn't much to do, except spend money. I know that's more venue related, but I thought I'd point it out. Firstly, when we showed up, the parking field was extremely muddy. I just got back from the 2pm show at the Marion County Fairgrounds. I wanted to throw this out there incase anybody was considering attending this tour if it came to your area. I know this is the Monster Jam subreddit, but the rules of the sub say submit anything monster truck related.
